The Ogun Muslim Community Society on Thursday held a spiritually enriching prayer and Ramadan lecture in honour of Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi, representing Ogun West APC.

The event held at Green Gold Event Hall in Akute, Ogun State, brought together Muslim faithfuls to celebrate the Holy month of Ramadan with prayers, reflections, and acts of generosity.

In his sermon, the Grand Chief Imam of Akute, Alhaji Mohammed Baruwa, emphasized the importance of fear of God and fostering love among one another.

Imam Baruwa reminded the congregation of the importance of giving alms and looking out for one another.

He maintained in the face of current economy hardship, Nigerians should reach out to their family members and immediate neighbors, stressing that the government can not provide for daily needs of the people.

He called on philanthropists and well-to-do Nigerians to imbibe the act of Zakat, as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad during and after the Ramadan fasting.

The clergy man equally charged Muslim adherents to continue their good deeds after the Ramadan fasting and enjoined them not to return to the sinful behaviors they abandoned during the Holy month of Ramadan.

“There’s nothing we are doing in this world than to have the fear of Allah. Allah is calling on all Muslim faithfuls to fear God and love one another during and after Ramadan.

“We all know the country is bad, but the government cannot drop food at every doorstep of all Nigerians, hence, the need for everyone of us to be our brothers’ keeper.

“Let us out for one another in our neighborhood. Let us do whatever assistance we can render for ourselves in this trying period.”

Alhaji Baruwa also urged well-to-do Nigerians to emulate the good deeds of Senator Solomon Olamilekan’s good gestures towards those who are in need, enjoining people to be religious tolerance.

In his opening remark, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Solomon Adeola Yayi highlighted the values of community engagement and belief in the oneness of Allah.

Senator Yayi represented by Hon. Kayode Amusa said, giving back to society and touching lives through his empowerment programmes, umderscores the importance of human existence.

Senator Yayi advised Muslim faithfuls to continue praying for the success of renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.

According to Senator Yayi, casting aspersions on Nigerians will not bring the desired dividends of democracy the people craved for.

Highlight of the event, include distribution of Ramadan relief packages, recitation of the Holy Quran for Nigeria and its leaders and special prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state, and Dr. Solomon Olamilekan (YAYI).
