The 10th Annual “Esu Is Not Satan” Festival is set to take place on December 24th, 2024, from 12 PM to 5 PM at the iconic New African Shrine in Ikeja, Lagos.
This year’s festival promises to be a groundbreaking event, bringing together renowned figures and cultural enthusiasts to dispel misconceptions about the Orisha Esu. This and more were revealed to the public by Iyanifa Emem Efuntola.
The Esu Is Not Satan Festival is an annual event dedicated to celebrating the Orisha Esu, a significant figure in Yoruba mythology. The festival aims to correct misconceptions, promote cultural understanding, and honor the spiritual heritage of the Yoruba people.
According to Efuntola, The festival will feature a stellar lineup of speakers and performers, including: Omoyele Sowore, renowned activist and journalist, Chief Solagbade Popoola a prominent Ifa priest, scholar and teacher, Aare Ona Kakanfo, traditional ruler and cultural icon, with alot of Nigerian singer and songwriter like; 9ice, Vector, Oladips, Bennylee, Seun Anikulapo Kuti, celebrated musician and activist, Mr. Macaroni, popular Nigerian comedian, Femi Aderibigbe, aka Kwame is the CEO of Virtual Entertainment Network, HRM Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi:His Royal Majesty, Oba of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom and many more.
Efuntola stated that the esteemed individuals will share their insights, experiences, and knowledge about Esu, shedding light on the true nature of this powerful Orisha and challenging the negative stereotypes that have persisted for centuries. An intensive lecture will be given to attest that ESU IS NOT SATAN.
The festival will feature cultural performances, music, and art exhibitions, creating a vibrant and immersive experience for attendees. The organizers aim to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for Yoruba spirituality and culture.
