Oyo State’s Education Hero: Scholar Who Secured LAUTECH Delivers UI Inaugural Lecture Tomorrow

The Erudite Scholar who played a vital role which culminated in Oyo State proprietorship of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) in his capacity as the Chairman of Governor Seyi Makinde constituted Oyo State Negotiation Committee on the sole ownership of the Ogbomoso based institution, Prof.Ayodeji Oludare Omole will tommorow deliver the 561 Inaugural Lecture of University of Ibadan at Trenchard Hall by 5:00pm.

    Prof.Omole who also in 2022 served as Chairman of Oyo State constituted Planning and Implementation Committee for the upgrading of Emmanuel Alayande College of Education to a University will deliver a Lecture titled, “Working In The Shadows Of Death” on behalf of the Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources,University of Ibadan.

    Omole, a Professor of Forest/Timber Engineering is of the Department of Forest Production and Products, UI.

    Fondly called “omo egiri oke” by his teeming admirers, Omole who bagged PhD in Wood Products Engineering in 2001 in UI started his career in the same University as an Assistant Lecturer in the defunct Department of Resources Management in 1997.

    Prof.Omole has served the University of Ibadan in many capacities which include Head of Department of Forest Production and Products,Chairman, Senior Staff Housing Committee and Chairman,Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU) 2016-2020.

    The 561st Inaugural Lecturer of the nation’s p remier University has published several research articles in reputable peer review journals and equally taught as adjunct and visiting scholar in reputable higher institutions.

    The Inaugural Lecturer is a member of several professional associations

    Prof.Omole who presently is the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) is also the Vice -Chairman, Committee of Pro-Chancellors of State Owned Universities (COPSUN).
