In a landmark meeting held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, the concerned executive members and key stakeholders of the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) convened to discuss pressing matters concerning the future of Abeokuta South Local Government. Among the numerous issues addressed, the candidacy of Comrade Abiodun Oluwasanjo Sijuade (popularly known as OMOBETA) for the office of Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government emerged as a central topic of conversation. After a thorough deliberation, NAPS is proud to declare its unwavering support and pass a vote of confidence in the leadership qualities of Comrade Abiodun Oluwasanjo Sijuade.

As an organization deeply rooted in the advocacy for the rights and welfare of students and youth across the country, the National Association of Polytechnic Students has always prioritized supporting leaders who exhibit unparalleled commitment to public service, transparency, and developmental initiatives. Over the years, Comrade Sijuade has distinguished himself as a visionary leader, a dedicated community builder, and an advocate for the rights of young people. His consistent involvement in grassroots initiatives, coupled with his passion for improving the lives of the less privileged, makes him the most qualified candidate to lead Abeokuta South Local Government towards progress and prosperity.

Comrade Abiodun Oluwasanjo Sijuade is no stranger to the challenges facing our community. From his early days as a student leader, he has been at the forefront of championing causes that directly impact the youth and the future of our nation. He has demonstrated an extraordinary ability to bridge the gap between different communities, foster dialogue, and mobilize people toward a shared vision of development. His track record of service speaks for him—he has continuously championed programs aimed at empowering young people, fostering job creation, and improving access to quality education. These are the values we need in our local government leadership, and we are confident that OMOBETA will bring these qualities to the position of Chairman.

OMOBETA has served our association in various capacities with a level of diligence, passion, and competence that has left an indelible mark on the students’ movement. From his roles in state executive leadership, where he played a pivotal part in coordinating student affairs across Ogun State, to his contributions at the zonal level as a key figure in the Southwest Zone, and finally, to his impactful service at the national level of our organization, Comrade Sijuade has always represented the interests of the students with dedication and distinction. His numerous achievements, from promoting student welfare to initiating developmental projects that have empowered young people, demonstrate his unrivaled capacity to lead and serve.

The NAPS leadership strongly believes that Comrade Sijuade’s tenure as Chairman will mark a turning point for the people of Abeokuta South. His proven leadership capabilities and his unique ability to engage with the grassroots give him a distinct edge in understanding the immediate needs and aspirations of the people. He has consistently advocated for policies that prioritize the welfare of ordinary citizens, and we are convinced that his leadership will herald a new era of accountability, transparency, and inclusive governance. Under his stewardship, we foresee a local government that is truly representative of the will of the people, one that values inclusivity, fairness, and a commitment to sustainable development.

Furthermore, we urge all well-meaning students, youth groups, civil society organizations, and community stakeholders to rally around Comrade Abiodun Oluwasanjo Sijuade as he embarks on this noble quest to serve the people of Abeokuta South. The upcoming local government election presents us with a unique opportunity to elect a leader who truly understands our challenges and is prepared to tackle them head-on with innovative solutions and people-centered policies.
OMOBETA is a leader who embodies integrity, competence, and a deep sense of service. We believe that his leadership will bring about the long-needed transformation in Abeokuta South.

As a man of the people, OMOBETA has consistently been a bridge between the leadership and the grassroots. His approach to governance is one that is inclusive, people-centered, and focused on sustainable development. He has shown that he understands the heartbeat of the masses, and his leadership style reflects a commitment to transparency, accountability, and service to humanity. It is this deep connection to the community, coupled with his unshakable dedication to progress, that sets him apart as the ideal choice for Abeokuta South.

In conclusion, the National Association of Polytechnic Students stands resolutely behind Comrade Abiodun Oluwasanjo Sijuade. Our vote of confidence is not only an endorsement of his candidacy but a clarion call for all residents of Abeokuta South to embrace a brighter future. We are confident that OMOBETA’s leadership will deliver on the promise of growth, development, and social progress for all. We trust that, under his administration, Abeokuta South will rise to new heights of achievement and become a model of excellence in local governance.

Together, we can make this vision a reality. Let us unite behind OMOBETA for a better Abeokuta South!
