Dapo Abiodun Appoints New Permanent Secretaires

In a bid towards ensuring continuity in leadership and management as well as operational efficiency of the Public Service, the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, has approved the appointment of Mrs. Adejumoke Oluwatoyin ADEWOLE and Mr. Bernard Olanrewaju OGUNYINKA as Permanent Secretaries in the Public Service of Ogun State. This is in addition to the appointment of Mr. Augustine Adekunle OYESANWEN, Director (Agric. Planning), GL. 17, Engr. Olanike Olawunmi OGUNBONA, HOLGA, GL. 17 and Mrs. Arinola Nusirat ADETAYO, Deputy Director (Acct.), GL. 16 as Permanent Secretaries by His Excellency as announced in April, 2024.

The appointment was made by His Excellency, the Governor with due recourse to the provision of Section 208 (c) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and having considered merit, professionalism, inclusiveness and seniority in the Civil/Public Service of the State. The appointee was carefully selected from the pool of Directors who were successful in the Ogun State Pipeline Leadership Development Programme conducted for top management level Officers to be eligible for appointment into the position of Permanent Secretaries in the State Civil/Public Service.

Prior to the appointment of the duo, Mrs. Adewole was on the post of Director (State Counsel), GL. 17 serving as the Director of Public Prosecutions in the Ministry of Justice, holds a Bachelor of Law, LL.B (Hons.) from the University of Lagos, Akoka in 1989 and Barrister at Law Certificate (B.L.) from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos in 1990 while Mr. Ogunyinka was on the post of Director (Information), GL. 17 in the Ministry of Information and Strategy, holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) (Combined Honours) in English and Yoruba Languages from the Ogun State University, Ago Iwoye in 1989 and Master of Arts (M.A.) in Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan in April, 1998.

The new Permanent Secretaries are enjoined to bring exceptional leadership, dedication and expertise to this new role while striving for excellence in the continuous implementation of the ‘Building Our Future Together’ Agenda of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, Governor of Ogun State.

Meanwhile, His Excellency, the Governor will conduct the Swearing-in Ceremony of all the five (5) newly appointed Permanent Secretaries in the Public Service of the State tomorrow, Friday, 7th June, 2024. The Ceremony has been scheduled to take place at the State Executive Chamber, Governor’s Office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta by 11:00am prompt. All members of the State Executive Council, Permanent Secretaries – designate and guests are enjoined to be seated at the venue of the Ceremony by 10:30am.
