According to a local resident, approximately 30 armed individuals equipped with AK-47 rifles invaded the community around midnight on Monday, targeting the residence of Adefija Micheal Akinropo, who was taken along with his wife, son, and elder brother.
Daily Trust quoted the resident, who is familiar with the victims, to have reported that the assailants subsequently moved to a nearby poultry farm, where they kidnapped another man and injured his wife.
He noted that police officers from the Byazin police station had arrived at the scene, but the kidnappers have not yet reached out to the victims’ families.
When reached for comment, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Josephine Adeh, mentioned she was en route to the office and assured that she would return the call once she arrived.
