2027: “Lagos needs his digital experience” – Influential group endorses Seyi Tinubu

The Southern Youth Movement (SYM) has officially declared its support for Seyi Tinubu’s governorship ambition, citing his digital expertise, leadership skills, and youth advocacy as key reasons he should lead Lagos State in 2027.

In a statement issued on Thursday by its National President, High Chief Promise Lawuru, the group stated that Seyi Tinubu’s modern, youthful ideas would transform Lagos and take the state to new heights.

According to SYM, Tinubu’s track record of mobilizing young Nigerians to engage with governance and his advocacy for youth inclusion make him an ideal candidate for the governorship seat.

“Seyi Tinubu is smart, hardworking, and embodies the digital experience Lagos needs to expand and evolve. His leadership will position the state as a global hub of innovation and progress,” the statement read.

The group also noted Tinubu’s role in encouraging the appointment of people under 40 to key national positions in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

“Seyi is eligible and highly qualified to be the next Governor of Lagos State. We, the Southern Youth Movement, believe it’s time for the youth to take charge of governance, starting with Lagos.

“Seyi Tinubu represents the future of leadership that combines digital innovation with strategic development,” the group stated.

The SYM dismissed concerns about his family ties to President Tinubu, stressing that the Nigerian constitution does not prohibit him from running.

They urged Lagosians to judge Seyi Tinubu based on his competence and vision rather than his surname.

SYM pledged to champion youth leadership across southern states while working collaboratively with elders for advisory support.

“Governance in this digital age demands innovative minds, and Seyi Tinubu is the right person to lead Lagos into this new era,” the group concluded.
