The immediate past governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has debunked reports claiming he has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a post on X on Sunday, El-Rufai urged Nigerians to ignore the false reports, describing them as “patent lies.”
He also disclosed that he has instructed his lawyers to take legal action against those spreading the misinformation.
“Please disregard the patent lies and rumours about my political affiliation. I have referred the lead peddlers of the fake news for further action by my lawyers,” El-Rufai posted on Sunday.
Also a close associate of the former governor described the claims as the work of mischief makers.
According to the aide, El-Rufai, a prominent figure within the APC, could not have defected to the PDP without making it public.
