A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has said that Nigerians are waiting to show President Bola Ahmed Tinubu the exit door in the upcoming 2027 presidential election amid economic hardship.
George disclosed this on Thursday in a statement to mark his 79th birthday in Lagos.
According to him, for the PDP to dislodge the ruling All Progressives Congress from the seat of power, members must unite and purge themselves of divisive tendencies.
He noted that the crisis in the opposition party was a result of self-interest by some members, who are leading it to destruction.
“If we want to win the 2027 presidential election, we should not allow ourselves to be divided, and those with divisive tendencies should be told in clear language that ‘Enough is Enough’.
“With the suffering in the land and the mismanagement of the economy, Nigerians are waiting for us in 2027 to kick APC out of Aso Rock,” he said.
This online medium recalls that a chieftain of PDP and former spokesman of Atiku Abubakar, Segun Sowunmi, accused Tinubu of being the problem of the party.
This comes as the PDP battles for survival following a prolonged leadership crisis.
The party plans to hold its 99th National Executive Committee meeting slated for November 28, 2024.
