Honour Ifeanyi Ubah by freeing Nnamdi Kanu – Okorocha tells FG

Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has urged the Federal Government to honour the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah by releasing the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

Okorocha made this appeal during a night of tributes held in Ubah’s honour on Monday in Abuja.

According to him, dead Igbo leaders are meeting over Kanu’s release.

Speaking to government officials present, Okorocha urged Senate President Godswill Akpabio to convey the message to the federal government.

CityNews Nigeria recalls that Ubah died in London on July 27 and will be laid to rest on November 22.

“I want to say to you, brother in whom I am well pleased Senator Akpabio, convey this message to FG on behalf of the Igbos seated here that the best to honour Ifeanyi Ubah is to release Nnamdi Kanu so that the Igbos can go home and re-organise their place and I know you Senator Akpabio that even if you don’t want to do it, send this message for the sake of your wife who is our daughter. Send this message and get us a result, or else your wife is not too far from taking back home.

“I’ve not died before, and I don’t intend to die soon, but I do know that the Ikemba Ojukwus, the Ekwuemes and these great leaders of note who have left us, since the spirit never dies, I’m sure they are having a meeting somewhere,” he said.
