You’re Wrong Bro! Omokri Fact-Checks Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour’s Views Against Kemi Badenoch

Dear Mr. Rhodes-Vivour,

Thank you for giving us your viewpoint. But actually, your views on this issue are not historically accurate. Kemi Badenoch is not an Aunt Jemima, or as someone put it, ‘the Black face of White Supremacy’.

When you say, “If Mrs Benedoch nee Adegoke, was Isreali- British, would she say reparations are a scam?”, you expose your lack of awareness of British history. Indeed, Britain has had a Jewish Prime Minister who would be said to be ‘Israeli-British’ in today’s language. Interestingly, his name even has the word Israel in it.

Please fact-check me: To become the British Prime Minister, Mr. Benjamin Disraeli converted from Judaism to the official religion of the English Crown, Anglicanism, and like Mrs. Badenoch, he joined the Conservative Party. As Prime Minister, he refused to support Zionist expansion into Palestine and was accused of being ‘far removed’ from the Jewish community. So you can see that your allegations against Mrs. Badenoch have no merit.

You tried to cast her as a Quisling, which she is not. Rather, she is a Black African woman of Lukumi descent from Nigeria who happens to be a British citizen. And she is aspiring to lead Britain. And she cannot lead Britain by pursuing the goals and aspirations of another nation in competition with the United Kingdom, just as Barrack Obama could not lead America and pursue Kenyan interests.

You may want to learn a thing or two from Mrs. Badenoch. You aspire to lead Lagos, yet you embody the goals and aspirations of other people besides Lagosians.

This is why you are constantly against what the people of Lagos want, whether it be the positive portrayal of Madame Efunroye Tinubu, the payment of ₦85,000 minimum wage, or your public statements against the Oro festival, which, when cast against your previous posts in support of the celebration of New Yam festival in Lagos, shows your partiality.

Then there are the indelicate things you said against the Lukumi Yoruba, which made the journalist Nicholas Ibekwe tag your candidacy as ‘dead on arrival’.

The difference between you, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, and Kemi Badenoch is that Mrs. Badenoch truly, from the bottom of her heart, owes her allegiance to Britain, which is as it should be. In contrast, you owe fealty to forces outside Lagos, who feel that Lagos is a ‘No Man’s Land’ which they developed and whose intentions for the Centre of Excellence are suspected to be malevolent.

Thanks again, and may God bless you.
