Paternity claims: Tunde Ayeni takes fresh action against Adaobi Alagwu

The ongoing paternity dispute involving businessman, John Olatunde Ayeni and Abuja-based lawyer Ms Adaobi Jennifer Alagwu has taken a new twist, with the former taking formal legal action against the latter.

Ayeni recently swore an affidavit disavowing any connection with Alagwu’s daughter, Omarosa, and has formally withdrawn any consent for the child to bear his family name.

Ayeni has consistently denied Alugwu’s claims, stating that he only has three children with his legitimate wife, Mrs. Abiola Ayeni.

TPN recalls that a DNA test conducted to determine the paternity of Omarosa revealed that Ayeni is not the biological father.

In response to the paternity claims, Ayeni approached the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), requesting the invalidation of any international passport bearing his family name presented by Alagwu and her child.

He also issued a “Cease and Desist” notice, demanding that Alagwu stop using his name in connection with her child.

In a recent legal affidavit sworn before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, and sighted by DAILY POST, Ayeni reiterated his stance that the said child does not belong to him.

The affidavit, signed before Commissioner for Oaths Bello Nasir Yelwa, outlines Ayeni’s firm denial of any relationship with Ms. Alagwu or her daughter.

The affidavit reads:

“I, John Olatunde Ayeni (Dr.), a Nigerian citizen and resident of Asokoro, Abuja, hereby declare and state on oath:

“I am legally married to Mrs. Abiola Ayeni, and no other person.

I have not entered into any legal or customary marriage with Ms. Adaobi Jennifer Alagwu.

“Ms. Alagwu manipulated me into believing that I was the biological father of her daughter, Omarosa Abimbola Ayeni.

“The DNA result claimed by Ms. Alagwu is incorrect, as she tampered with the process by hacking into my wife’s email to manipulate the results.

I withdraw any consent previously given for Ms. Alagwu to use my family name for her daughter.

“I have no legal obligations or affection toward Ms. Alagwu or her daughter, and I demand that she cease all contact and communication with my family and friends.”

Ayeni’s sworn affidavit is intended to formally correct the record and prevent further misuse of his “name in relation to the paternity dispute.”

In addition to Ayeni’s personal legal actions, the Ayeni Obaniwa family of Iyah-Gbede in Kogi State has also issued a formal statement distancing themselves from the claims.

The family leaders, in a public declaration, disowned any relationship between Ayeni and Ms. Alagwu.

“We are not aware of any union or relationship between Dr. John Olatunde Ayeni and Ms. Adaobi Jennifer Alagwu. The purported daughter of Ms. Alagwu, named Omarosa, is not a member of the Ayeni family, and no child of hers bears the Ayeni name.”

The Ayeni family emphasized that no member of their household has or will communicate with Ms. Alagwu or her family.

They described the rumors circulating in the media as completely false and insisted that there has never been any form of union or solemnization between Ayeni and Alagwu.
