The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu has revealed what the embattled leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu told him in detention when he visited him.

The Deputy Speaker said when he visited the detained IPOB leader, he (Nnamdi Kanu) embraced him like his own brother and opened up to him, assuring that he would be a champion of peace in the South East region when he is out of detention.
Featuring on ABN TV’s Political Perspective, Kalu representing Bende federal constituency of Abia State said Nnamdi Kanu also commended him for initiating the Peace in South East Project (PISE-P).
He also said Nnamdi Kanu told him that he sees peace as a tool to develop and heal Igbo land.
“I saw a man with a beautiful mind. He was tired of killing of people, tired of spilling of blood, he was tired of people using his name to commit havoc around the South Eastern region.
“He wants a paradigm shift and said that when he is out, he is going to push with me on this issue peace. Peace is better than conflict and war, peace is better than crisis, he said peace is better in South East.
“He said I have seen the efforts you’re making with regards to South East Development Commission. Are you sure this government is trustworthy enough to apend their signature on that piece of legislation.
