Police Detain Officer Who Allegedly Raped Teenager Inside Lagos Police Station

The Lagos State Command Police PRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin has reacted to the viral reports of a 17-year-old resident who was reportedly raped inside Ogudu Police Station in the Ojota area of the state.

Hundeyin reacted to the reports on his official X.com account, where he wrote:

‘Suspect now in custody’

The Publisher Nigeria reports that, an officer attached to the station had promised to help the teenager retrieve her phone, which was stolen by ‘one chance’ robbers.

The suspect was said to have overheard the victim recounting her ordeal to her mother at her shop and offered to help track the phone.

According to the victim’s account, the officer lured her to his office, locked the door, and threatened her with a gun before sexually assaulting her.

The incident has sparked outrage and calls for justice across Nigeria.
