As the case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), comes up for hearing tomorrow, Barr Aloy Ejimakor has revealed that the British government can retrieve Kanu from Nigeria without a court order.
According to Ejimakor, who posted on his X handle, Nigeria’s violations of her treaty obligations regarding Kanu, a British citizen, have made it possible for Britain to intervene in the matter without diplomatic niceties.
Ejimakor quoted British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak as saying that Kanu’s case is beyond diplomatic niceties, implying that the British government can take decisive action to ensure his safety and well-being.
This development comes as Kanu’s legal team prepares to face the Nigerian government in court tomorrow, amidst concerns over his detention and alleged human rights violations.
