Nigeria, Benin Customs open one Border-Point

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and its counterparts in the Benin Republic have agreed to open One- Single Border-Point at Segbana/Tsamiya Border.

This is in order to enhance trade and as well ease business activities of the two countries.

At the signing of the agreement yesterday at Sebgana Border in Benin Republic Controller of the Nigeria Customs Service(NCS) in Kebbi State, ( Nigeria),Mr Iheanacho Ernest Ojike said at the meeting, the two countries agreed to workout modalities aimed at having single border point that will facilitate trade as well as ease business activities of the countries.

According to the Comptroller, once the long – awaited dream of establishing this single- border post is actualized, Socio-economic challenges in these two countries will becomes a forgotten narrative.

At the end of the signing of the agreement, both the two countries agreed to establish an internationally registered one- stop border post.

In their separate remarks, a businessman and member of Segbana/Tsamiya border committee, Nasiru Dan Musa Jega represented by Abdulrahman Muhammad Manga and Idris Shu’aibu Bagudo revealed that the border opening would boost economic activities of the two countries in particular Kebbi State.

They Commended both Federal and State Governments for initiating action to bring succour and livelihood to the people of the two countries.

They noted that the road construction, security and logistics takes center stage at the meeting, which signalled the readiness of the APC led administration under President Bola Tinubu to bringing succour to the lives of the common man.
