Lagos State Government yesterday announced a three- month amnesty window for property owners to obtain or regularize their planning permits on completed buildings from May 2 to July 30. Permanent Secretary, Office of Physical Planning, Engr. Oluwole Sotire, stated this in a statement.
He said the three-month amnesty window provides property owners and developers with the opportunity to obtain planning permits, also known as building plan approvals, without the usual statutory penalties associated with building without approval in the state.
This three-month suspension of penalties, according to the statement, aims to support those in the built environment sector who may be affected by current economic hardships.
To participate in the amnesty program, applicants must submit specific documents for assessment through the District Offices of the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) in all 57 local government areas and local council development areas, as well as the Electronic Planning Permit (EPP) office at the LASPPPA headquarters in Ikeja.
