The Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim, who made known in a statement said that Kanta was suspended pending investigation into the Iftar feeding programme in the Babura Local Government Area of the state.
Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has suspended the state’s Commissioner of Commerce, Alhaji Aminu Kanta, for alleged mismanagement of the iftar feeding programme fund.
The Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim, who made known in a statement said that Kanta was suspended pending investigation into the Iftar feeding programme in the Babura Local Government Area of the state.
Ibrahim stated that the move was part of the government’s commitment to ensuring financial accountability and prudent management of public funds.
He said that “The Governor directed the issuance of suspension in a letter, conveyed by the Secretary to the Jigawa State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim.”
According to Ibrahim, the Commissioner was suspended for alleged involvement in mismanagement of the iftar feeding programme fund in Babura Local Government Area.
He stressed that the suspension was with immediate effect.
