The newly sworn-in Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has nominated members of his cabinet and other top aides on his first day in office.
The Publisher reports that Ododo was sworn in as the 5th elected governor of Kogi State on Saturday afternoon in Lokoja, the state capital.
In his inaugural speech to the people of the State, Ododo announced the nomination of 16 commissioner-nominees to be forwarded to the State House of Assembly for prompt screening and confirmation as members of the State Executive Council (SEC).
The governor asked the Kogi state assembly to grant the nominees speedy consideration.
The Commissioner-nominees were major members of the immediate past administration of Governor Yahaya Bello, and their appointment is with immediate effect
The nominees are Farouk Danlami, Salami Ozigi-Deedat, Basiru Abubakar, Adams Abdulaziz, Joseph Oluwaseun, Muzi Yinusa Abdullahi, Wemi Jonze, Rabiatu Okute, Fanwo Kingsley, Fatima Momoh, Mohammed Yusuf, Timothy Ojoma, Sunday Faleke, Abanika Taye, Asiwaju Idris Asiru, and Mohammed Adbulmutalib
Ododo also announced the appointment of Folashade Ayodele Arike as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and other aides.

Isah Ismail — Special Adviser on Media
Sulaiman Ibrahim — Director-General of Protocol
