1. The Rivers State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has threatened to take action over the political crisis rocking the state. The congress said the crisis between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and state lawmakers loyal to the immediate past governor of the state and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, was adversely affecting workers in the state.
2. The former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Adamu, has said he recently decided to leave active politics in the country because he noticed that he had started developing allergies for political activities. Adamu made the disclosure on Saturday in Lafia.
3. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Sokoto State chapter, has expressed satisfaction over the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division’s judgment upholding the election of four members of the party in the House of Representatives. This is contained in a statement made available to journalists by the spokesman of the party in the state, Hassan Sayinnawal, on Saturday.
4. President Bola Tinubu on Saturday dropped a hint on the planned minimum wage for Nigerian workers following the rise in the cost of living. Tinubu said the coming wage structure will be practical, sustainable and implementable by all layers of government.
5. Rivers State police commissioner, Olatunji Disu, has promised residents of the state that there will be no more incidents of accidental discharge. Disu spoke at the Arms Handling and Musketry competition held at the Counter Terrorism Unit, CTU, Training School in Nonwa, Tai Local Government Area of the state.

The clash between the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, minister, Nyesom Wike and Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara appeared to have widened on Saturday as the two gladiators avoided each other following the minister’s arrival in the state for some functions. Wike was in Eleme for a burial ceremony, while Fubara attended the convocation of the Rivers State University (RSU).

The former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof Attahiru Jega, has called on Nigerians to put heads together and ensure the country is restructured before the 2027 general elections. He said power devolution to the sub-nationals was critical for the country to develop.
8. The Defence Headquarters has confirmed the killing of four notorious terrorists’ commanders in airstrikes within the week. They are Machika, Haro, Dan Muhammadu and Ali Alhaji Alheri, popularly called Kachalla Ali Kawaje. The Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, made this known in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.
9. Luton‘s Premier League match at Bournemouth was abandoned after their captain, Tom Lockyer collapsed on the pitch. Both sets of players were taken off midway through the second half as Lockyer received medical treatment.
10. The Anambra State Police Command says it has rescued four children of the same family kidnapped by suspected herdsmen. This was disclosed in a press statement issued on Saturday by the command’s spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga.
