Breaking: Tobi Amusan Reveals Why She Failed To Win Women’s 100m Hurdles

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan has said she would be back “stronger” next year after finishing sixth at the World Athletics Championships’ women’s 100m hurdles on Thursday in Budapest.

The 26-year-old told journalists after the game that it was quite “a journey getting into the final” despite all she had gone through in the last couple of weeks.

“It has been God, my team and my family,” the 2022 gold winner told reporters.

She thanked all her fans for supporting her through the ups and downs, promising that she will be back stronger.

“Yeah, it’s a tough one; nobody likes to lose but considering what I have gone through in the past couple of months, I’m so grateful that I came out,” said Amusan.

Recall, Amusan failed to successfully defend her women’s 100-meter hurdles world title at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

In the 2022 edition of the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, Tobi Amusan stunned the world when she won the semi-finals in 12.12 seconds which is a world record to date.

The 26-year-old athlete went on to win the edition by running wind-aided 12.06secs in the final to become the first Nigerian to win 100-meter hurdles at the World Athletics Championship.
