APC Gives Update On ‘Leadership Crisis’ After Meeting Between Gov Bello And Ganduje

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has given an update on the disagreement which threatened to create a crisis within the party over the election of some new leaders within the party.

The Publisher Nigeria recalls the crisis started following the announcement of some new members of the  National Working Committee (NWC) and zonal officers which were rejected rejected by some state chapters over disagreement on those who emerged in such positions.

One of the state chapters that rejected the new NWC members was Kogi State.

The development saw the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, and some lawmakers from the state storm the party’s national secretariat on Thursday to stop the inauguration of Duro Mesoko who was nominated for the position of Deputy National Publicity Secretary.

Police operatives were also positioned in strategic places around and within the APC National Secretariat to stop the breakdown of law and order as protesters stormed the secretariat.

Governor Bello further met with the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje to air the grievances of the Kogi State chapter.

Following the meeting, the APC on Friday said all differences would be rectified as Ganduje has assured of a win-win in Kogi’s replacements in the National Working Committee and zonal positions after meeting Governor Bello.

The party also expressed the preparedness for the November 11 governorship polls in Kogi State and the optimism of emerging victorious.

Taking to its official Twitter account, the ruling party wrote: “The National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, met with the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello. Ganduje assured of a win-win in Kogi’s replacements in the National Working Committee & zonal positions. They expressed APC’s preparedness to win the forthcoming guber election in Kogi.”
