Breaking:Convoy attack: Apostle Suleman was our main target – Suspect in shocking confession

A suspect, Yusuf Ismael Isah, who was arrested in connection with the attack on the convoy of fiery cleric Apostle Johnson Suleman has confessed to committing the crime.

The suspect, who was among other suspected criminal elements paraded at the Force Headquarters on Thursday, said the attack was aimed at assassinating the popular man of God.

TP recalls that a motorcade belonging to Suleman, founder of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, was attacked on October 21, 2022, on Benin-Auchi Road.

At least six persons, including three police personnel, were murdered during the gruesome attack.

The suspect, however, insisted that he didn’t know the person who masterminded the assassination attempt.

He said, “The attack on him (Suleman) was to assassinate him. I was not part of the discussion; Ilayasu and Labisca were the ones involved in the discussion.

“We attacked him with five AK 47 rifles. Labisca trailed him from where he was coming from to the point where we attacked him.”
