1. The national leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has announced that its National Vice President, Munnir Atiku Lamido, is missing. The National PRO, MACBAN, Muhammad Nura Abdullahi, raised the alarm in a press statement on Friday.
2. The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment and deployment of eight Commissioners of Police to Commands in the country. PSC also commended the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, for adhering to its latest policy on gender sensitivity in his recommendation.
3. Governors of the Southwest geo-political zone, alongside the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II and other prominent leaders in the region will host President Bola Tinubu to a home-coming on July 22, 2023. The ceremony organised by Southwest Presidential Inauguration Celebration Committee in collaboration with other political bodies would take place at the Ojaja Resort in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
4. Former Governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, who is the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Nov. 11 governorship election in the state, told a court on Friday that he was never elected as the state’s governor on two occasions. Sylva, the immediate-past Minister of State for Petroleum, refuted the allegations that he was previously elected as Bayelsa governor on April 14, 2007, and May 24, 2008.
5. Vice President, Kashim Shettima has called on leaders in the North West Region of the country to unite and support the efforts of the Bola Tinubu administration in addressing insecurity and other challenges confronting the people. He made the call when he paid a Sallah homage to the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Muhammad Saád Abubakar II in his palace on Friday.
6. Troops belonging to the 4 Special Forces Command of the Nigerian Army on Friday apprehended 12 individuals suspected of vandalising railway tracks in Nasarawa State. The suspects were caught red-handed with two truckloads of stolen rail tracks in an abandoned railway station between Keana and Obi Local Government areas of Nasarawa State.
7. Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, on Friday assured Igbos living in Lagos that he would broker an enduring peace between them and the Yorubas to ensure peaceful coexistence based on mutual respect for each side.
8. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has described Governor Hyacinth Alia’s first month in office as the worst take-off in office by any state administration since the return of democracy to the country in 1999. The party made this observation in a statement signed by the state Publicity Secretary, Bemgba Iortyom, and made available to Saturday Sun in Makurdi.
9. Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has said he has no regrets regarding the demolition exercises and the recovery of public property embarked upon by his administration. He said this while receiving the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, with district heads and members of the emirate council who paid him a Sallah homage at the government house as part of the Eid Kabir celebrations.

The university town of Ekpoma in the Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State was on Thursday evening thrown into panic as a team of policemen with their official vehicle ran over a handcuffed middle-aged man. In a video circulated online on Friday, the handcuffed man was seen lying down in front of the police van before the driver ran over him.
