Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had announced Tinubu as the winner of the February 25 presidential election.
However, Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) approached the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja to challenge the results.
They both alleged that the election was characterized by various irregularities including the non-qualification of the APC candidate, and the election was conducted in non-compliance with the provision of the law.
In their different petition, the duo also alleged that Tinubu failed to win the majority of the lawful votes cast in the election, and just as he could not secure one-quarter of the lawful votes cast in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
But in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Thursday, Adebayo said Obi and Atiku are challenging Tinubu’s victory to make their followers happy.
The SDP presidential candidate added that some of the petitions were mere therapeutic placebos for their followers.
He tweeted, “As for presidential election petitions, blessed are those willing to learn facts and law with open minds when hearing starts. Those who see courts as a continuation of campaigns are setting selves up for heartbreak. Some petitions are mere therapeutic placebos for followers.
“Keep this tweet to compare later: (1)What happened or not in USA 30 years ago is not relevant (2)VP was once Senate Candidate is not relevant (3)If votes are not uploaded immediately to server are not valid to elect one, then same votes not valid for anyone else (4)FCT is mere 37th.”
