The Publisher Nigeria reports that the former Governor of Anambra State lost his presidential bid to the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Tinubu.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, declared Tinubu as the February 25th presidential election winner after the APC candidate amassed 8,805,420 votes ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Atiku Abubakar, who came second with 6,984,290 votes.
Obi, however, emerged third in the race. There are speculations and allegations that the election was rigged in favour of the APC candidate.
Top politicians and concerned Nigerians have asked Obi and Atiku to send their congratulatory message to Tinubu already, but the duo are yet to respond positively, this online medium reports.
There are expectations that Obi will reveal his stand about the outcome of the election during the press conference.
