The Publisher Nigeria reports that the spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council (PDP-PCC), Daniel Bwala, has alleged that El-Rufai was inciting Nigerians against the order of President Muhammadu Buhari on the naira swap policy.
He said the governor does not have any moral right to criticise President Buhari for violating the Supreme Court order on the issue because he himself in times past has violated several court orders.
Bwala submitted on Channels Television’s The 2023 Verdict programme on Friday, that El-Rufai’s broadcast to the people of his state and by extension to Nigerians was inciting the citizens against the government.
He asserted that the presence of the APC to care for Nigerians now is too late because, in the last eight years of their rule, the APC has never demonstrated sympathy to Nigerians, arguing that their behavior that seems “as if they care” was a belated act.
Bwala advanced that the act of the APC was a ploy to deceive and create the impression they cared about Nigerians to earn their votes at the polls.
Bwala stated that “Governor El-Rufai sat and addressed the people of Kaduna State and by extension the members of APC throughout the federation of Nigeria that they should disobey the orders of President Buhari who stands as the symbol of the sovereignty of the country.
“The El-Rufai that is inciting Nigerians to rise against the government because the government violate orders, let me tell you, as the FCT Minister, El-Rufai disobeyed all court orders and demolished houses.”
Recall that on Thursday, the Kaduna State governor in a counter broadcast ordered the people of his state to continue spending the old notes against the President’s earlier directive.
El-Rufai had insisted on acting on the Supreme Court order which had stopped the central bank from barring the use of old notes.
Hitherto, President Buhari had in a national broadcast ordered that the old N200 banknotes remain in circulation till April 10, while the old N500 and N1,000 bills cease to serve as legal tender.
