Enugu North Senate Race: ‘It’s Our Project’ – Onyohor Community, PGs To Ugwuanyi

The people of Onyohor community in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State have assured Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of their total support ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Governor Ugwuanyi is the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for Enugu North Senatorial zone.

Speaking when the Enugu North Senatorial Zone PDP Campaign Council visited the area, the various speakers described the governor as a friend of the community.

They lauded the Ugwuanyi administration for the first ever intervention work on the community’s road, appealing for an extension of the project.

Those who spoke included the PDP chairman in the ward, Mrs. Odoh Anthonia, as well as the councillor representing the ward, Hon. Charles Odoh.

They told the governor’s team that, “this is the first time a sitting governor, cum senatorial candidate is coming to campaign in Onyohor as a ward. We are happy about that.

“Your visit today will send a very good signal to the average Onyohor man that you are not going to leave us behind when you get to the red chamber.

“We thank you for what you have been doing in our dear State since you assumed office in 2015.”

They assured the governor that over 90 percent of their votes would be delivered to him and the other PDP candidates, stressing that “your senatorial election is our project and we all work for its success.”

In a remark, a community leader and chieftain of the PDP from the community, Chief Adolphus Ugwu pleaded with his people to give all their support to the governor.

“I will stake my life to see that we get all that is due to us if the governor gets to the Senate; vote for the PDP and leave the rest for me,” Ugwu stated.

Earlier in his palace, the traditional ruler of Onyohor, His Royal Highness Igwe Obinna Odoh blessed the governor’s aspiration, declaring that it was a done deal.

While addressing the rally, the Director-General of the Campaign Organization, Barr. Egechukwu Obetta said the visit was to thank the people for all their support to the Ugwuanyi administration.

Assuring them of more dividends of democracy, he urged the people of the community not to be deceived by people who are coming with sugar-coated words.

“We appreciate all your support to the PDP; we are not taking it for granted. The request you made about the extension of the road project, we will take it back to the government.

“Onyohor is PDP and PDP is Onyohor, nobody should deceive you; our assurance to you is that you will reap more from your support to the party,” Obetta said.

Similarly, the Presidents-General, PGs, of the various communities in Enugu North Senatorial Zone have also declared that Ugwuanyi’s senatorial contest is a done deal.

They conveyed their message at the PDP Enugu North Senatorial Zone campaign office during a meeting with the DG, Obetta.

The PGs were led by their State Chairman, Barr. Paulinus Eze.
