A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Femi Fani-Kayode, has said that the presidential flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, “betrayed” his former boss, Olusegun Obasanjo.
THE PUBLISHER NIGERIA reports that Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation of Nigeria and ex-Special Assistant on Public Affairs to Obasanjo, said former vice-president Atiku is by far the most destructive force that has bedevilled the fourth Republic.
“Atiku betrayed the Obasanjo government, undermines us, to the extent that I personally had to tell him to leave cabinet on two separate occasions because he was working against us,” he said on Friday’s edition of Channels Television’s Politics Today.
“So, he cannot be relied on.
“We couldn’t rely on him during Obasanjo’s time, how can he be relied on now by the Nigerian people?
“He marginalised his own party, destroyed it, kicking out five governors, denying the South of the Chairmanship of the party, and insisting on a Fulani to Fulani succession.
“As far as we are concerned, that is one of the reason why Tinubu would say he is better.”
