Some members of the so-called ‘Unknown Gunmen’ terrorising many parts of Nigeria’s southeast region on Monday attacked and shot dead the traditional ruler of Obudi, Agwa in Oguta Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo State, Eze Ignatius Asor.
THE PUBLISHER NIGERIA gathered that the assailants who stormed the palace of the prominent traditional ruler on Monday morning shot him dead. The hoodlums also gunned down two of the monarch’s chiefs while they were holding a meeting at the palace.
The killers, who came on motorcycles and vehicles, fled after hitting their target.
“He was such a good man. He has helped to curb the incessant insecurity situations we have been experiencing in our community. It’s a pity he is gone,” a source said.
Confirming the incident to this newspaper, the police Public Relations Officer (PRO) in Imo state, Micheal Abatam, said security agents are on the trail of the killers.
