Updated: Antony completes Man Utd medical as Tuchel blocks Chelsea forward’s exit

Ajax winger, Antony has moved a step closer to signing for Manchester United after he completed his medical on Monday night.

The 22-year-old has flown into the UK earlier in the day to finalize the transfer.

Antony has now undergone the necessary checks by United’s doctors and is set to sign his five-year deal.

This was revealed by transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.

“Antony has successfully completed his medical and will be unveiled as new Man Utd player on Tuesday,” Romano tweeted.

The Brazil international cost United £85m and becomes their second-most expensive signing after Paul Pogba.

Meanwhile, Christian Pulisic is set to remain with Chelsea after being denied the chance to leave on loan this summer, according to The Athletic.

Pulisic was ready to extend his contract which only has two years left, in order to help facilitate a move.

However, manager Thomas Tuchel has chosen to keep him, after Callum Hudson-Odoi joined Bayer Leverkusen on loan.

Manchester United and Newcastle were interested in Pulisic, as well as several Champions League clubs in Italy and Spain.
