“Emefiele” Trends on Twitter After Egypt’s Central Bank Governor Resigned Amid Rising Inflation.

Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, is currently trending on the micro blogging platform, Twitter, following reports that the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Tarek Amer, had resigned from such position due to the country’s struggle to curb the increasing level of inflation.

Recall that former Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Tarek Amer had few hours, dropped his resignation letter from such position, following the rising inflation in the country generated by the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, high oil prices and a drop in tourism.

According to the Peoples gazette, Egyptian president, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi accepted Tarek Amer’s resignation from such position, and went on to appoint him as one of his advisers.

However, following such move made by Tarek Amer, in addition to the rising inflation and economic woes presently in Nigeria, Nigerians took to Twitter to call out the incumbent Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, as they asked him to also resign like his colleague did in Egypt.

Others however, stated that the CBN governor will never make such move.
