Manchester United legend, Gary Neville, has hit out at forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
Neville said he is a bit ‘disappointed’ in Ronaldo amid ongoing uncertainty over his future at Man United.
Ronaldo has told Man United he wants to leave Old Trafford in pursuit of trophies and top four football.
But an exit is yet to materialise, and no concrete offers have been forthcoming for Ronaldo.
Tensions heightened further last week when the Portugal captain was subbed off during Man United’s pre-season friendly 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano and left the stadium before full time – with manager Erik ten Hag describing his action as ‘unacceptable’.
Ten Hag still faces a huge dilemma over whether to start Ronaldo in their Premier League opener against Brighton on Sunday due to his poor match fitness and Neville believes the entire saga could have been diffused if the five-time had given more clarity over the situation.
Speaking after Arsenal’s Premier League 2-0 win against Crystal Palace on Friday night, Neville took aim at Ronaldo.
He said on Sky Sport: “I’m a little bit disappointed in him. Because he’s letting the manager go into those press conferences.”
