Insecurity: APC Senators working with us to impeach Buhari – Senator Abaribe

The lawmaker representing Abia South Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly, Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe has said that most of the Senators of the All Progressives Congress, APC, are in support of the move to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to the lawmaker, most of the Senators are fed up with the administration of President Buhari and they were now prepared to force him out of office.

Abaribe told Channels Television that the lawmakers, elected to represent Nigerians, can no longer sit and watch while President Buhari crashes Nigeria.

It was reported that Senators across party lines, led by the Minority Leader, Philip Tanimu Aduda on Wednesday stormed out of the chamber chanting “All we are saying, Buhari must go”, “Nigeria must survive”, “Ahmad Lawan should follow”, etc.

Abaribe said, “…It’s not true to say that we don’t have the numbers [to impeach Buhari]. Most of the APC Senators are with us.

“And at the point, when this starts, that’s when Nigerians will know that almost every Senator is fed up and can no longer continue to see a situation that looks like what happened in Rome.

“This is exactly what’s going on today. [The question is], do we wait until this administration crashes the nation or do we take action to prevent it.”
