JUST IN: US President Biden tests positive for COVID-19

United States President, Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19, according to White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Thursday.

The US President is said to be experiencing mild symptoms.

This is the first time Biden is testing positive for the deadly COVID-19. He has fully been vaccinated and added a booster jab to it.

Jean-Pierre said the president tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday morning.

“This morning, President Biden tested positive for COVID-19. He is fully vaccinated and twice boosted and experiencing very mild symptoms.

“He has begun taking Paxlovid. Consistent with CDC guidelines, he will isolate at the White House and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time,” she said.

White House’s coronavirus coordinator, Dr. Ashish Jha told CNN that Biden had a runny nose, dry cough and is experiencing some fatigue.

While the president tested positive, his wife Jill tested negative, but admitted that her husband is doing well as she spoke with him few minutes ago.
