On Wednesday, 20th of July, 2022, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) handed over the Certificate of Return to the Osun State gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ademola Adeleke as Governor-elect of Osun State.
On Sunday, 17th of July, 2022, the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ademola Adeleke was declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as the winner of the July 16 Osun State gubernatorial election.
Reacting to the latest development, Senator Ademola Adeleke’s nephew and popular Nigerian musician, David Adeleke alias Davido, has taken to his official Twitter handle to express his happiness. Davido revealed he put his career and family name on the line, but is grateful to God Almighty that his sacrifices paid off eventually.
The Nigerian singer also apologized to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for berating the Commission. On Tuesday, Davido via his official Twitter handle, called out INEC for failing to present Senator Ademola Adeleke his certificate of return, even after 48 hours after he was declared winner of the Osun State gubernatorial election.
In Davido’s words “It’s been a long battle fought! We put our Family name on the line, I put my career on the line! But we had faith! This was God testing is if we really believed in him! I feel victorious! Congrats, your excellency (Ademola Adeleke)! As for me, it’s back to the studio.”
