The Vice governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Lagos, Funke Akindele while being interviewed on Channels Television’s Politics Today has said she has about 20 million social media followers which will work for the actualization of her governorship candidacy.

When she was asked by the Journalist on Channels Television about how she will gather the support of the people of Lagos? Funke Akindele said, “I believe myself & Jandor can win the Governorship race in Lagos because I have over 20 million Instagram followers and millions of Twitter followers which will work for me.”

Recall that she was announced as the PDP vice governorship candidate a few days ago. Funke Akindele is supposed to work together with Jandor to achieve their aim. Just like what she has said, it is the grassroots followers that will vote and not followers on the social media platforms. Therefore they need to take their campaign to the grassroots.
