1. The management of the General Hospital Kabba in Kogi State has stated that the owner of the beer parlour, Mrs Omofemi Oyehunwa and ten other victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment shortly after an explosion. Dr Ibrahim Sule, head of the X-Ray unit of the hospital disclosed this to journalists on Monday evening, in Kabba.

2. The All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday, commenced screening of aspirants seeking its presidential ticket for the 2023 poll. The screening is taking place at the Tr anscorps Hilton Hotel, in Abuja.

3. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on Monday, met with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja. Atiku defeated Wike and other presidential aspirants to pick the party’s presidential ticket on Saturday.

4. A Federal High Court in Abuja has remanded Senator Rochas Okorocha for alleged money laundering. Okorocha was alleged to have laundered funds to the tune of N2.9 billion while serving as governor of Imo State.

5. A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant, Samuel Ohuabunwa, has expressed disappointment that delegates from his State didn’t vote for him at last Saturday’s 2023 Presidency Special PDP National Convention of the party. He stated this in an interview yesterday.

6. The Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Samuel Kanu Uche, who was kidnapped on Sunday, has been released. A source who disclosed the development, however, did not state if any ransom was paid before the cleric was freed.

7. Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has declared that he would not allow himself to be treated as a second class citizen in the country. Wike, who lost the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential primary election to the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, spoke on Monday while addressing Rivers people after his return from the election held in Abuja.

8. Peter Obi, former Anambra State Governor has emerged as the presidential flagbearer of the Labour party. He emerged after a keen contest with Olushola Emmanuel-Tella who was the only aspirant that refused to step down.

9. A former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabi’u Kwankwaso, has said a former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, might have become his running mate if the latter had joined the New Nigeria Peoples Party, instead of the Labour Party, after exiting the Peoples Democratic Party.

10. Gunmen have killed a policeman and dispossessed him of his rifle at Ogidi community in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State. It was gathered that the gunmen, on Sunday, stationed themselves close to the Ogidi town hall, where some policemen usually mounted a checkpoint.
