Winning the primaries means that Banky will represent PDP as the House of Reps candidate in the upcoming election.
Reacting to the news, some Nigerian youths compared him with Lagos lawmaker, Desmond Elliot who turned his back against the youths after he joined politics.

One Miral wrote “Make this guy no fuckup like Desmond Elliott”
One Joy Ciana wrote “I felt bad earlier today when they started spreading the rumour that Banky W lost the PDP Primaries. I’m glad to hear that he won…Now, the hurdle is for him to win against the principalities in Lagos state, APC…and if he wins, I pray we don’t have another Desmond Elliot.”
Chimozuki prayed, “Dear Banky W, when you get there, please don’t become like Desmond Elliot. I take God beg you”
Popular tweep, Nefertiti said, “Congratulations to Banky W. He just won the PDP Primaries ticket. Banky represents HOPE for the future. Desmond Elliot was a mistake. We need more youths in politics, but sensible youths.”
Kemi Filani recalls that in 2020, Desmond Elliot at the Lagos State house of assembly pushed for the regulation of the social media bill that will control speech on social media. Also, a video of the Nollywood actor and politician, Desmond Elliot speaking against the progress of Nigerian youths, went viral during that period.
According to Desmond Elliot in the viral video, Nigerian youths have abused social media and the government needs to do something about it. He added that social media has more negative impact than positive impact because of how the youths drag and insult the government.
