CityNews Nigeria reports that Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Don Awunah is dead.

This online news platform understands that the Benue – born cop, AIG Don Awunah died on Monday morning, May 23, 2022, after a brief illness at a private medical hospital in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, where he was receiving treatment.

The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumiyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed his AIG Don Awunah death, said he died on Monday morning. His burial arrangements, according to a source, will be announced in due course.

CityNews Nigeria reports that the deceased was in charge of Zone 16, Yenogoa in Bayelsa State. Awunah was formerly a Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO). He passed away barely three months after Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Joseph Egbunike died.
