BREAKING: Nnamdi Kanu Floors FG As Court Strikes Out Eight Out Of 15 Charges
The terrorist charges against Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, were dismissed by Abuja Federal High Court on Friday.
Eight of Kanu’s 15 charges were dismissed by Justice Binta Nyako.
The Nigerian government has filed 15 counts against the IPOB commander, including terrorism and treasonable crime.
The Federal Government filed allegations against Kanu that bordered on terrorism.
Since his arrest in June 2021, the IPOB leader has been in the custody of the Department of State Services, or DSS.
Kanu was apprehended in Kenya and deported to Nigeria, where he will face Justice Nyako.
He was arrested and charged with advocating for the creation of Biafra.
However, the IPOB leader contested the charges in a fundamental human rights suit against the Federal Government.
