Though, the country has been experiencing power outages in the past few weeks due to the collapse of the national grid and that has affected the airports with the power challenge worsening in the past three days.
It was learnt that the departure lounge of the International Airport was the most affected on Saturday.
“I suffered this morning while boarding. Power just suddenly went off,” a passenger said
It was, however, gathered that the generator that serves as a back-up for the airport developed fault over 24 hours ago.
“Yes, there is a power challenge. The only generator we have been managing also packed up,” an airport official said.
However, another worker informed that the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) said it was working to provide a backup for the airport.
