Buhari Mourns Again As Over 100 People Feared Dead In Kebbi Boat Mishap

President Buhari is saddened over the loss of lives in Kebbi boat mishap.

 

 

 

 

 

The Publisher Nigeria reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over the boat mishap, which reportedly claimed several lives in Ngaski council area of Kebbi State on Wednesday.

 

 

 

The Publisher Nigeria had reported that dozens of people are missing feared dead in Nigeria after a boat carrying about 200 broke in two and sank, officials say.

Most passengers were women and children travelling from neighhouring Niger to the north-western state of Kebbi.

Describing it as devastating, the President, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, offered his condolences to families of victims of the incident.

“President Muhammadu Buhari has described the news of the capsizing of a boat in Ngaski Local Government Area of Kebbi State as devastating, offering his heartfelt condolences to the families of those affected by this tragedy.

“From media reports, there are indications that the boat was overloaded and there is no official confirmation on the number of casualties.

“While efforts are ongoing to recover more survivors, the President extends his gratitude to all those involved in the rescue efforts and wishes those injured from the accident quick recovery,” the statement reads.
