9) Commemorating Juneteenth
On June 19, 1865, enslaved African Americans of Galveston, Texas received word of their freedom that had been purposefully withheld for over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This Juneteenth we continue to fight against systemic racism and build a freer, stronger country.
